In 1955, Pastor and Mrs. Jim Lugibihl started the Bible Baptist Church of Charlevoix in the American Legion Hall. Soon after, the church built a building at 904 May Street where Pastor Lugibihl led the congregation until he retired in 1987.
In 1987, Dr. Jim Green became the pastor and has been with the church for the past 23 years. In the next decade the church outgrew the tiny, 1200 square foot auditorium and built a new 11,000 square foot building in 1997. Both buildings are now debt free.
In January of 2014, God led Dr. Jim Green to Lansing, MI to pastor with his father, Dr. Don Green. Dr. Jim Green’s oldest son, Pastor Philip Green, became the pastor on January 12, 2014. We are excited to see God move in this new era of leadership.
