Ministry
Sunday School:
Come study the Bible with us on Sundays at 10:00. Classes are provided for every age group, nursery through senior adults.
Worship Services:
These services are held each Sunday at 11:00 and 1:30 pm. Thursday night is our midweek service at 6:00. This service is like a catapult to your Christian walk to get you through the week to the Lord’s Day. The Thursday service has uplifting singing, a message from God’s Word, and a prayer meeting.
Northwoods Baptist Academy:
In a nation when the status quo for education is God-defying and less than scholarly, we decided to create a home school group that offers the flexibility of learning at your own pace in your own home, but that has a sports program, music program and group meetings.
Nursery:
Every service we offer a clean, professional, safe nursery for children ages 0-3. With over 150 sq. ft. of learning and playing area, the children are well cared for.
Food Pantry:
Especially in this Michigan economy, many families find themselves in need of some food assistance. We do our best to feed the hungry, not just the bread that satiates their physical hunger, but the Bread of Life that can feed their spiritual hunger.
Jail Ministries:
Unfortunately, many people don’t start looking up until they hit rock-bottom. A group of dedicated men and ladies have banded together to go visit the individuals who have hit rock-bottom – in jail. Every Sunday, for 3 hours, dedicated Christians go help those that are looking for answers from behind bars.
Teen Ministries:
The heart of the church is its teens. Pastor Philip has an exciting teen ministry. Twice a month he does an activity with them. Most of the teens in the church are active in the bus ministry and other ministries. There is a special teen class for them on Sunday morning and a dedicated church service geared just for them. They go to youth rallies and crusades and build lasting friendships in a Christ-centered environment.
Harvestime Youth Revival:
Every Autumn, teens from across Michigan come to Charlevoix for a day of games and preaching.
Soaring As Eagles Teen Magazine:
Pastor had such a burden for teens that in the year 2000 he started a magazine to encourage them. Soaring As Eagles Teen Magazine had a subscription base of 3000 teens in 50 states and 25 countries. We are currently digital. Visit SoaringAsEagles.com
Northwoods Baptist Camps:
The church hosts 3 weeks of camp every year. 150 7th-12th grade teens from across northern Michigan join us for one week in August. Also, every year during the third full week of July we host a family camp in Charlevoix. The third week is a camp for junior age kids (Grades 3-6).

Technical Ministries:
The church has a vibrant, cutting-edge, media ministry. Every service is recorded on DVD, CD, MP3 and the internet. We have multiple cameras and film several large conferences around the state and country. The motto of the media ministry is “Capture the Spirit.” Many hearts have been helped and lives touched by extending the service to those who could not attend. However, even with all of the technological advances, we strive to remain as simple as we can. The Holy Spirit can never be replaced by electronic professionalism.
Children’s Church:
Children who attend Sunday Mornings go to a specialized church constructed for their age group. They learn songs, play games, earn prizes and learn from God’s Word truths that will stay with them their whole lives.
Vacation Bible School:
A week of intense fun and activity where children learn Bible truths.
Bus Ministry:
There are those who cannot afford the gas to attend. There are others who must work on Sunday and cannot bring their children. There are some people who do not care for church, but care enough for their child to want them to go to Sunday School. Every Sunday, a fleet of buses leaves our parking lot, sometimes before the sun rises, to go get little children, teens, adults and elderly to bus them to church.
Music Ministry:
We have a lively Adult Choir, Teen Choir, Children’s Choir, special ensembles and groups, soloists, duets, trios and quartets. Traditional Music is a mainstay.
Visitation:
The best way to get some one the truth of God’s Word is by word-of-mouth. Every week members visit people who are sick, hurting or shut-in. They also visit going door-to-door telling people about the Lord.
Discipleship:
After an individual accepts Christ as Savior, we try to help them grow in the Lord with Basic Bible Lessons to assist a young Christian in growing to be a mature Christian.
Organized Community Outreach:
Whether it’s special meetings or passing out free bottled water at the Venetian Parade, our church is passionate about reaching out to the community.
Nursing Homes:
Just about every week a group of ministering Christians go into American House, Grandview Medical Care Facility, or Boulder Park Terrace to reach out to those senior saints that are not able to attend church. So we take church to them.
World Wide Missions:
Missions is “someone going somewhere to tell someone about Christ.” Pastor and Mrs. Green have been in other countries assisting missionaries. Our church supports missionaries around the world through faith-promise missions giving.
